A year ago, we opened The Hub as a front door for the regeneration of Temple Quarter – a place where people could walk in, ask questions, share ideas, and see the future of the area begin to take shape.
At the time, we discussed how opening the space was such an important statement of intent, to create a welcoming, transparent, and genuinely collaborative space at the heart of one of the UK’s largest regeneration programmes.
12 months on, that intent has become reality, with 243 sessions booked across the year, including
- 64 VCSE sessions
- 25 open days
- 6 two-week construction courses, with 65 students in attendance and a 75% pass rate
Throughout the year, the space has hosted everything from resident drop‑ins about the regeneration programme to one‑off sessions such as a women’s work support drop‑in, CV and interview skills workshops, and a funding advice session for the BTQ Community Fund.
The Hub is also a Period Friendly Place, supported by PRD through the Social Value Charter, offering free period products to anyone who needs them.
We’ve welcomed back the City of Bristol College photography students for a second year, capturing the changing landscape of Temple Quarter through fresh eyes and creative perspectives. Their work is displayed on the walls and will document the area’s transformation for years to come.
What began as a hope that The Hub would become a go‑to venue for community organisations, has now become the norm. Local groups regularly use the space for meetings, workshops, and events. It now stands as a shared space, between BTQ LLP, local residents and community groups.
If you would like to use the hub to run a training course, community initiative, or meeting, then please email hello@bristoltemplequarter.com, where we can discuss the details. The Hub is free to use for community groups.
