St Philip’s Marsh public engagement
BTQ LLP are in the process of producing a masterplan for St Philip’s Marsh. A key aim of this work is to inform a Supplementary Planning Document for St Philip’s Marsh that will guide the Local Planning Authority in its decisions on planning applications in the area, and developers as they bring plans forward.
As part of this process, engagement took place in June and July 2025 on some emerging ideas.

Bristol Temple Quarter Development Framework
The development framework was endorsed by Bristol City Council in May 2023, following a period of engagement from January to March 2023.
The engagement included drop-ins, community events, online information and surveys, creative engagement and stakeholder briefings. The reports are below:
Development Framework Report
The framework included a masterplan for Bristol Temple Meads and the areas surrounding it, as well as concepts and ideas for Temple Gate and St Philip’s Marsh.
Artist led public engagement report
We delivered a range of creative engagement between January and March 2023 in partnership with Play:Disrupt, In Bristol Studios and Studio Meraki.
The engagement consisted of creative pop-up sessions which helped us identify key themes and priorities across different communities.
Artist and youth led engagement report
Bristol Temple Quarter commissioned 3 artists, supported by artists Jo Chalkblack, Anna Haydock Wilson, John O Connor and The Means to explore some of the future possibilities for St Philip’s Marsh.
The artists worked with young people from Screenology to deliver this engagement.
