The King of Funk and Soul, Craig Charles will be curating, performing and comparing for his Fantasy Weekender, 24th – 26th August at Creative Common, Bristol. Charles has teamed up with his friends Soultrain, Bristol’s longest running club night, to invite special guest live performances from Lee Thompson Ska Orchestra, Thundercat, Omar, Craig Charles’ Fantasy Funk Band, Loose Ends and Smoove and Turrell for a ‘Big Day Out’ on the Sunday.

Gilles Peterson will host the exclusive opening launch party on the Saturday night, open to the lucky the first 500 tickets buyers. Other DJ support comes in the shape of Plump DJs (boogie set) fresh from their already legendary Arcadia show at Glastonbury and mature b-boy and hip hop legend DJ Format. Bristol’s boogie kings Laminate Radio (DJ Die, Gus Pirelli and Inja) will take to the decks as will Bristol supremo DJ Cheeba, providing an exclusive funk and soul AV show. Completing the DJ line-up will be dance-floor favorites and much loved residents the Soultrain and We, Like You DJs.

A unique twist to The Fantasy Weekend will come courtesy of The Invisible Circus. The renowned circus company is set to create other worldly experiences for visitors through gravity defying aerial feats to up close and personal interactive performances.

To round off The Fantasy Weekender all ticket holders will also gain access to the Outdoor Fantasy Lunch on Monday 26th from 12pm onwards. In the expert hands of Michelin star chef Josh Eggleton and his Eat Drink Events partner Luke Hasell, diners will feast on local and sustainable fare served at Creative Common’s onsite restaurant and bar, Yurt Lush.
