In November 2008 Verve Properties first consulted on proposals for a further phase of the successful Paintworks development on the Bath Road in Bristol.

In December 2010 a planning application for Phase III was approved in principle by Bristol City Council, however the Section 106 was not concluded and the scheme was not taken forward. Verve Properties has now re-activated this application and brought in Crest Nicholson as a development partner.

Phase III will involve partial demolition of existing buildings on the eastern part of the Paintworks site to make way for a new employment led, mixed-use regeneration scheme. It will provide new commercial and retail space, live work units and residential accommodation with associated car parking and improvements to access from the Bath Road.

Key stakeholders, existing tenants and occupiers and the local community were invited to view and comment on the latest proposals at a public exhibition held at Paintworks on 8 November. The new illustrative masterplan, layout and design for Phase III, drawn up by Stride Treglown Architects, are available to view on line at www.paintworksbristol.co.uk.

The revised application is due to be considered by Bristol City Council’s Enterprise Zone Development Control Committee in December.
