The site is the first to be opened up in the the Enterprise Zone for temporary use, and the planning application has been made under a new piece of planning legislation, the ‘Local Development Order’ for temporary uses for Plot 3 by leading Bristol architects CODA.

The project has been brought into being by a coalition of creative organisations and small enterprises including: Coexist, Artspace Lifespace, Invisible Circus, Circomedia, CODA Architects, forming a new Community Interest company. The project is closely supported by Bristol City Council and Funded by the Homes and Communities Agency.
